Checklist for lab-watch

*This list is only for supervisors

Check all equipment before your first labwatch AND ask the supervisor responsible for the equipment if you have questions about it.

Make sure that all persons in the labs know about this service.

Check the labs at least once an hour and check the list below.

Distillation (Skouras Stathis, Espen Storkaas)

Room: K4 301

Make sure that all the columns in operation have a level of liquid above the safety mark. For the D8 column make sure there is an acceptable amount of liquid in the reboiler.

Check for sufficient water flow in the condenser.

After lab: Check that the main switch is off and that all the cold water flows are off. The water bath and the analytic lab weight should also be off.

Reverse Osmosis/ultrafiltration (Thelin Willy)

Room: K5 1etg.

After lab: Make sure that the water line and the pump are turned off.

Kinetic study in a batch reactor (Storsæter Sølvi, Hauge Kjetil)

Room: K5 3etg

After lab: Make sure the N_2,water and the equipment are turned off.

Kinetic study in CSTR (Bjørgum Erlend)

Room: K5 3etg

After lab: All electrical equipment should be turned off and the pH-electrode shall be placed in a glass marked for it's storage.

Kinetic study by UV spectroscopy (Yu Zhixin )

Room K5 3etg

Netzschater is set to 0, Power is set to off, and electrode is set in buffer PH=4.0.

Heat exchanger (Silva Erik Falk Da )

Room K4 301

Water and electricity are off.

Pressure drop (Håvard Linborg)

Make sure everything is clean and tidy.

Write a short summary in the protocol for the student labs.

Give the inspection protocol for the student labs to the next person on the watch list.
